Complex housings & valve blocks
Custom 5-Axis CNC Components
Drawing-based machining for multi-face holes, deep cavities and complex geometries. Material, workholding, process and inspection are reviewed around the application.
- Coordinated datums and multi-face features
- Complex contours, cavities and workholding review
- Critical dimensions and inspection agreed early
Understand the part.
Choose the right process.
Housing and valve-block review focuses on hole relationships across faces, cavity access, wall thickness and sealing faces. Supply a model together with drawing datums, surface and inspection requirements.
This page illustrates components that can be submitted for review. Material grade, critical dimensions, finishes and inspection follow the agreed drawing and technical requirements.
Applications: Equipment housings, fluid valve blocks and precision tooling
Specifications & RFQ requirements
Agreed requirements connect manufacturing and acceptance.
| Process | 5-axis machining / CNC milling, selected by geometry |
|---|---|
| Material | Aluminum, stainless steel and other grades, subject to review |
| Dimensions & tolerances | Reviewed by geometry, material and drawing |
| Surface finish | Process and supply scope confirmed against requirements |
| Quantity & delivery | Prototype and batch inquiries welcome; project-specific review |
| RFQ requirements | 2D / 3D drawings, material, quantity and critical requirements |
| Geometry & dimensions | Overall dimensions, pocket depth, wall thickness, multi-face holes and holding datums |
| Sealing & cosmetic requirements | Identify sealing faces, roughness, cosmetic surfaces and acceptance after finishing |
Axis travel, machine accuracy and instrument resolution are not unconditional part-tolerance guarantees. Achievable requirements need a part-specific review.
Every step follows the drawing.
Drawing & process review
Confirm material, functional dimensions and process priorities.
Workholding & machining
Select equipment, workholding and machining sequence.
First-article & in-process checks
Measure critical features and check the process.
Final inspection & delivery
Review dimensions, appearance and agreed documentation.

Inspection matched to critical features.
CMM, vision, contour and other methods are selected around the drawing. Inspection scope and documentation are agreed during project review.

Does a complex housing always need simultaneous five-axis machining?
Not always. Planar pockets may suit three-axis work, multi-face features may suit indexed 3+2, and continuous contours may justify simultaneous motion. Tool access, setups and critical dimensions guide the choice.
How do thin walls and deep pockets affect a quote?
They affect tool rigidity, clamping distortion, allowances and operation count. Identify functional wall thickness and internal radii that may be adjusted. Design changes require customer approval.
What should I specify for sealing faces and finishes?
Specify sealing-face roughness, feature relationships and acceptance criteria. For finishing, identify masking, dimensional effects and inspection stage. Confirm the supply scope in the quotation.
